New Delhi: In a ghastly incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, a new layer of brutality has been unearthed. There, in the Pakwara police station area, a mother handed over her own daughters to her lover due to an illicit relationship.
The rape of minor daughters
The accused woman’s lover raped both her minor daughters. According to reports, the woman, under the influence of her alleged tantric lover, handed over her minor daughters, aged 10 and 13 years respectively, to the accused. The man raped them, and the Moradabad Police have arrested both the accused.
How the incident unfolded
After the death of her husband, the accused woman came into contact with a person named Mahendra Singh from the same village, who allegedly practised exorcism. In January this year, she took her two daughters to a secluded forest under the pretext of performing witchcraft. The girls allege that Mahendra raped the elder daughter and sexually assaulted the younger one.
The accused threatened to kill them if they told anyone, and the frightened girls remained silent for months. Later, they mustered up courage and narrated the incident to their grandfather. The police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and serious sections of rape based on the complaint filed by the grandfather of the victims.
In another horrific incident in February, a three-year-old girl was raped and strangled in Gurugram’s Sector 37 by a neighbour. The girl was reportedly lured away from her home in a nearby village by the perpetrator before the heinous act was committed. The toddler was playing outside her residence when the accused, a neighbour working at a local manufacturing unit, lured the child away from her home. He allegedly took her to a secluded place around four kilometres away. There, he raped and murdered the child and buried the body.
