Surya Dev Puja: Sunday has been dedicated to Lord Sun. According to the scriptures, Suryadev has been described as an actual deity. Lord Surya is worshiped on this day. Arghya is offered to him. Offering Arghya to Sun God on Sunday has special religious significance. It is believed that offering Arghya to the Sun God increases lifespan, health, sharpness, respect and self-confidence.
By worshiping and offering Arghya on Sunday, Lord Surya fulfills all the wishes. If the Sun is weak in the horoscope, then Arghya should be offered by pouring water in a copper pot on Sunday, but the Arghya offered to the Sun God gives full results only when some special things are mixed in the water. Ingredients for Surya Arghya
Red sandalwood: Mix red sandalwood in the water of Arghya. Red sandalwood is considered very auspicious. Red sandalwood is dear to Sun God. It is believed that offering Arghya mixed with red sandalwood brings good luck in life. Obstacles are removed and personality becomes brighter and attractive.
red flower: Sun God loves red color very much. Therefore, add a red flower to the water of Arghya. It is a symbol of energy and courage. By offering Arghya mixed with a red flower in water, one quickly receives the blessings of the Sun God.
Akshat: Mix Akshat in Arghya water. Akshat is considered a symbol of perfection. Akshat mixed in Arghya water brings stability in life.
Jaggery: Mix a little jaggery in the water of Arghya. This relieves mental stress, improves health and increases morale.
Roli or Kumkum: Be sure to add Roli or Kumkum to the Arghya offered to Sun God.. Mixing it in Arghya water is considered very auspicious.
Method of offering Arghya to Sun God
Wake up early in the morning on Sunday and take bath first thing. After this, at the time of sunrise, take water in a copper pot to Lord Surya and add red sandalwood, red flowers, Akshat, jaggery and roli or kumkum in it. Then offer Arghya to Lord Sun. While offering Arghya, kept chanting the mantras of Sun God. After this, recite Surya Chalisa and Aditya Hridaya Stotra. Finally, perform Aarti of Sun God with camphor or ghee lamp.
