Specialty of Hubli’s KSCA Stadium
On the other hand, if we talk about the stadium, it was completed in 2012 and is built on the lines of M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is spread over 16.5 acres, which includes eight main pitches, ten practice pitches and two concrete pitches. So far nine Ranji matches and three List A games have been played here. An unofficial test match has also been played on this ground between India-A and West Indies-A, in which Cheteshwar Pujara scored a triple century. It is also the home ground of Hubli Tigers in the Karnataka Premier League.
The capacity of this stadium is said to be 50,000. But due to lack of shade in the permanent stands, temporary stands and pandals are set up for every match, so that thousands of fans can watch the match comfortably. Preparations for the pitch for the final have been going on since last week, in which groundsmen from Bengaluru and more than 10 staff members are working.
