Tax experts and CA firm are demanding to increase ITR deadline, this is the reason

ITR filling date

The central government extended the date of filing ITR for FY 2024-25 to September 15, 2025. Tax experts and CA firms are demanding to move further on this date. He says that there is a delay due to technical problems, frequent changes in form and portal disturbances.

The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and Chartered Accountants Association, Surat (CAAS) have asked the government to extend the time limit for filing ITR for assessment year 2025-2026. They say that people are facing a lot of trouble due to technical problems and changes in form, due to which there is a delay in filing ITR.

This is the main reason

Both organizations have written a letter to the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes and appealed to increase the deadline of ITR. FKCCI said in its letter that due to major changes in ITR form, technical disturbances and system problems, taxpayers and professionals are facing a lot of problems. FKCCI President MG Balakrishna wrote that preparations to file returns are being delayed due to change in ITR form and technical malfunctions in the system. Due to these problems, it is becoming difficult to follow the deadline of the board.

At the same time, Chartered Accountants Association Surat has also demanded to extend the date of ITR filing from September 15. The organization has demanded the portal glitter, due to natural disasters, as well as they have added in their demand that festivals are falling in the coming time, in such a situation, all taxpayers will prepare for the festival and not get entangled in the technical disturbances of ITR.

Hardik Kakadia, President of Chartered Accountants Association, Surat, said that nowadays tax portal is dominated by taxation work. Therefore, it is very important for the software updates required to fill different forms. But CBDT issues these forms late and he knows the reason for this. The software company, which is currently Infosys Limited, takes a lot of time to reach these updated forms to the users and when these forms come, a lot of technical problems are also available with them for free, which become a headache for users.
