In the UP Budget 2026-27, big announcements were made like Sardar Patel Employment Zone in every district, 100 new townships, One District One Cuisine scheme, Rs 50 lakh crore investment proposal, 156 crore tourist arrivals and promotion of tourism industry.

During the discussion on Budget 2026-27 in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone’ will be established in every district of the state. This initiative is being taken in the name of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with the aim of taking forward employment, investment and skill development in an integrated framework. Rs 50 to 100 crore will be spent on each zone and about 100 acres of land will be made available, not far from the district headquarters.
One Campus Model: Investment, skill development and employment on one campus
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that earlier the arrangements of employment office and industry department were separate, due to which there was limited impact in employment generation. Now all these facilities will be operated in a single complex. These zones will have the following facilities:
- Common Facility Center
- testing lab
- Product Display and Design Center
- Skill Training Center
- Investment Help Center
This will provide opportunities for training, employment and self-employment to the youth as per their capacity and the investment process will also become easier.
One District One Cuisine: Traditional dishes will get a new brand
Provision for ‘One District One Cuisine’ scheme has also been made in the budget. This scheme will be implemented on the lines of One District One Product (ODOP). Under this scheme, focus will be on quality improvement, packaging, branding, marketing and training of local cuisine. Example:
- Rewari and Gajak of Meerut
- Asafoetida of Hathras
- Hapur papad
- Guava of Prayagraj
- Ballia Halwa
- Imarti of Jaunpur
Women Entrepreneurship Boost: Training and financial assistance to women entrepreneurs
‘One District One Cuisine’ scheme will be linked to women entrepreneurship. Self-help groups and women entrepreneurs will be provided training, financial support and markets. The government aims to strengthen women empowerment and local employment.
100 New Townships: Planned Urban Development in Uttar Pradesh
The Chief Minister said that 100 new townships will be developed in the next five years in Uttar Pradesh, which has a population of 25 crore. Recently 114 township proposals have been approved. The process of housing construction and land bank for the poor has been expedited.
Ease of Doing Business: Reduction in compliance and online map approval
De-regulation policy has been implemented to bring transparency in urban development.
- Registration required only on residential plots up to 100 square meters and commercial plots up to 30 square meters.
- Automatic online map approval on residential plots up to 500 square meters and commercial plots up to 200 square meters.
This step will be a relief for small traders and common citizens.
Transport Infrastructure: Metro, Namo Bharat and Expressway Cluster
To strengthen transport infrastructure:
- Rs 1268 crore for Lucknow Metro (Charbagh-Basant Kunj Phase)
- Namo Bharat (Rapid Rail) between Meerut-Delhi
- Integrated industrial clusters along 27 expressways in the state
- 12,500 acres additional land bank, total 75,000 acres available
Investment Proposal and Bhoomi Poojan Ceremony
4,675 compliances of 65 departments have been simplified through Nivesh Mitra portal and single window system.

- Work on projects worth Rs 7 lakh crore through ground breaking ceremony
Tablet distribution under Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana
Under Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, a provision of Rs 2375 crore has been made for distribution of tablets to final year undergraduate and postgraduate students. This will promote digital education and technical proficiency.
Tourism Growth: 156 crore tourists in 2025
The Chief Minister said that about 156 crore tourists will come to Uttar Pradesh in the year 2025. These main religious places were developed:
- Kashi Vishwanath Dham
- Ayodhya Dham
- Vindhya Corridor
- Chitrakoot
- naimisharanya
UNESCO recognition and development of cultural heritage
UNESCO has declared Lucknow as ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’. Mughal Museum in Agra is being renamed and a memorial is being developed in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Hastinapur, Sarnath, Shravasti and Bateshwar are being developed as iconic cities. An MoU has been signed with Tata Sons for the construction of temple museum in Ayodhya.
Mudra Loan for Tourism Policy and Homestay
Under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, collateral-free loan of up to Rs 2 lakh will be provided for setting up homestay. This will promote employment and self-employment at the local level.
