PM Modi Dinner Cancelled: Dinners for NDA MPs have been canceled before the Vice Presidential elections. On September 8, the dinner for NDA MPs at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence was going to be dinner. Earlier, on 6 September, a dinner was to be organized for the NDA MPs at the house of BJP President JP Nadda. But these programs were canceled due to heavy floods in many parts of the country, especially in Punjab and North India.
Flood havoc in Punjab
This year, the monsoon has created a ruckus in the whole of North India. The situation in Punjab is very serious at this time. So far 43 people have died here. The impact of floods in cities like Amritsar, Bathinda, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana is continuously increasing. More than 300 people have lost their lives in Himachal, while the Yamuna river in Delhi is flowing above the danger mark. More than 300 people have died in Himachal Pradesh this year due to rain and its related incidents. At the same time, Punjab received such heavy rain after many years that 43 people lost their lives. The severity of floods in Punjab can be gauged from the fact that three lakh hectares of crop has been submerged in the entire state. President Draupadi Murmu on Friday expressed concern over the damage caused by continuous rains, cloudburst and sudden floods and expressed condolences to the affected people. On the social media platform x, he wrote that he was deeply saddened by hearing the news of natural disasters during the monsoon this year. Cloud bursting in the mountains and floods in the plains have caused huge havoc, causing death and loss in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Assam and many parts of the country.
