PM Modi Punjab Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the flood affected areas of Punjab on 9 September and will take stock of the situation. So far, 46 people have died in this flood, 2000 villages are immersed and actor Sonu Sood has also come forward in relief work.
Punjab Flood 2025: Punjab is facing a severe flood these days. While the boom of rivers is sinking the villages on the one hand, on the other hand the pain of the people has been reduced to the relief camps. Amidst the water spread all around, wasted crops and broken expectations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will himself reach Punjab to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, actor Sonu Sood is also assuring people of help by reaching the affected districts.
PM Modi will visit Gurdaspur
According to the information, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gurdaspur district of Punjab on 9 September. He will conduct an aerial survey of flood affected areas here and will also communicate directly with farmers and affected people. This step is considered important because the situation is continuously deteriorating and the state government has appealed to the Center for additional help.
According to official data, the number of people who died of floods has reached 46 so far. At the same time, the standing crops on 1.75 lakh hectares of agricultural land have been completely ruined. About 1,996 villages in 23 districts of the state have been submerged in water. Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir brought up rivers like Ravi, Sutlej and Vyas, which worsened the situation in Punjab.

The worst flood of five decades
Finance Minister Harpreet Singh Cheema has described it as the most destructive flood of the last five decades. According to him, more than 3.87 lakh people have been affected so far. 22,854 citizens have been evacuated to safe places under relief and rescue operations.
A 50 -year -old man was swept away in a strong current in Tali Ghulam village in Ferozepur district. The water level in the district is constantly in dangerous condition, which has made the life of the villagers in crisis.
Sonu Sood arrived for help
Meanwhile, actor and social worker Sonu Sood reached Amritsar and announced to visit the affected districts. In a conversation with the media, he said that he will contribute to relief work by taking stock of areas like Bagpur, Sultanpur Lodhi, Ferozepur, Fazilka and Ajnala. Sonu Sood said that Punjab is very close to his heart and they will help all possible.
