New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya again found himself surrounded by controversy as he used an unparliamentary word for the Leader of Opposition, Umang Singhar, on Thursday. Later on, speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed regret after Vijayvargiya’s comment inside the House.
The BJP minister lost his cool during the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address in the Assembly on Thursday.
Congress leader Singhar cited a deal between the BJP and the Adani group in Singrauli, claiming the government plans to pay the Adani group a whopping amount of Rs 1.25 lakh crore over 25 years for the sake of power purchase.
In response, BJP minister Vishwas Sarang opposed Singhar’s comment, as the name of a person not present in the House shouldn’t be mentioned. In support of Vishwas, Vijayvargiya accused the Congress leader of spreading false information in the Assembly.
Singhar countered, as he is willing to present the proof if needed in the House, triggering a heated exchange of accusations between the two ministers. In the heated debate, Vijayvargiya said an unparliamentary word. Responding, Singhar wanted the BJP minister’s resignation amid the ruckus.
After that, Speaker Tomar adjourned the House for some time. After the House reconvened, Tomar said anger should be visible while speaking in the House, but it should not reflect.
CM Mohan Yadav apologised
Chief Minister Yadav apologised in the Assembly for Vijayvargiya’s words. After that, Singhar said he respects the CM’s expression and respects parliamentary decorum. “If something has happened on my part, I also express regret,” he added.
Vijayvargiya also regretted using a parliamentary word and was embarrassed by his behaviour inside the House. “I don’t know how all this happened today. Umang’s body language was a little different… I love Umang… I am saddened by my behaviour,” Vijayvargiya stated.
MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari took a dig at Vijarvargiya’s comment as he raised questions: Is this the new manifestation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s New India?
Earlier, Vijayvargiya used the word ‘ghanta’ in front of reporters when a journalist asked questions on the water contamination row in Indore.
