‘Jana Nayakan’ was earlier scheduled to release on January 9, before the Pongal weekend this year. But the release of the film got stuck due to a legal dispute related to the censor certificate. The matter reached the Madras High Court, where several hearings were held. For this reason the new release date of the film could not be decided. Recently, after the film received ‘A’ certificate, the makers finalized its worldwide release date on July 23.
