A big competition regarding Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI has started in the country. Now it is not limited to just tech companies, but the country’s biggest industrial houses are also ready to invest billions and trillions of rupees in it. On one hand, Mukesh Ambani is betting Rs 10 lakh crore on AI, while on the other hand, Gautam Adani is preparing to invest about Rs 9 lakh crore. It is clear that there is going to be a huge rain of money in the AI sector in India in the coming years.
In the ongoing AI Impact Summit in Delhi, Mukesh Ambani announced that through Reliance Industries and Jio, he will invest about Rs 10 lakh crore in the field of AI in the next seven years. He says that this is not a risky experiment, but a solid strategy for the future. India has the world’s largest digital user base. Nearly one billion internet users, cheap data rates and fast networks give the country a strong base for AI. Ambani believes that India’s young population, democratic system and rapidly growing digital infrastructure can together make it the world’s biggest AI power. His emphasis is on the fact that the benefits of AI should reach not only big cities but also villages.
Focus on data center and renewable energy
On the other hand, Adani Group is working on a plan to build a large-scale AI-ready data center by 2035. This investment will mainly focus on data center networks running on renewable energy. The group aims to expand its existing 2 GW network to 5 GW. For this, Adani Connex projects will be expanded and big data campuses will be developed in different cities of the country.
Partnerships are also being made with global companies in this direction. Work is going on with Google for the development of the country’s largest AI data center campus in Visakhapatnam. There are plans to collaborate with Microsoft on projects in Hyderabad and Pune. Gautam Adani believes that the new industrial revolution is coming in the form of AI. The countries that can combine energy and computing will decide the future. India stands in a strong position in this race.
What does it mean for common people?
Such a big investment is not just for the profits of the companies. This can create millions of jobs, boost startups and make digital services in the country more affordable and better. In the coming years, AI can completely change the way we work, education, farming, health and business. Overall, this competition between Adani and Ambani can give India a new identity on the AI map.
