Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) [भारत]July 15 (ANI): Shine CC defeated Packer Sunny CC by three wickets to lift the first Kanyakumari Police-Public Relations Champions Trophy title. The tournament was organized by Kanyakumari District Police under the theme “No to drugs, yes to sports”.
Held at the Government Polytechnic College, Nagercoil, the tournament was aimed at strengthening the relationship between the police and the public and promoting sports as a positive alternative to drug abuse among the youth.

Chasing 144 runs to win in the title match, Shine CC achieved the target with eight balls to spare and scored 144 runs for 7 wickets in 18.4 overs. M. Ranjith played a top inning of 38 runs to help his team win the title after a tight chase.
Earlier, Packer Sunny CC had scored 143 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, with S.R. Ajin remained unbeaten after scoring 38 runs. Despite this competitive score, the team could not defend it as Shine CC maintained their composure in the chase. P. Girish performed brilliantly with the ball and recorded impressive figures of 4/26.

On their way to the final, Shine CC had earlier defeated Kings CC in the semi-finals. S. In the other semi-final, Packer Sunny CC won over DPM Super Kings in a closely contested match. DPM Super Kings were all out for 138 in 18.3 overs, with M. Anand scoring 51, while M. Viju Arul (3/22) and Y. Asif Ahmed (3/12) shared six wickets. Packer Sunny CC S. Emmanuel (40) and S.A. Thanks to Steven’s unbeaten 41 runs, they scored 142 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Shine CC was crowned champions, while Packer Sunny CC finished as runners-up. DPM Super Kings finished third, while Kings CC finished fourth.
