According to the Hindu calendar, the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month is starting from 10:32 pm on 27 February 2026. Whereas, this date will end on February 28 at 8:43 pm. In such a situation, according to Udaya Tithi, this year the fast of Narasimha Dwadashi will be observed on 28th February. This fast will be broken on 01 March.

Narasimha Dwadashi puja method (Narasimha Dwadashi Puja Vidhi)

  • On the day of Narasimha Dwadashi, wake up before sunrise, take bath and wear yellow clothes. Because yellow color is very dear to Lord Vishnu.
  • After this, install the idol or picture of Lord Narasimha in the puja room.
  • If there is no picture of Lord Narasimha, then worship Lakshmi-Narayan.
  • After doing this, bathe the Lord with Panchamrit.
  • Offer them yellow flowers, fruits, rice and incense sticks.
  • Recite Vishnu Sahastranam or Narasimha Stotra during worship.
  • To get the blessings of Lord Narasimha, worship facing north or east.
  • At the end of the puja, offer food to Narasimha Dev and distribute Prasad after Aarti.

According to mythology, once upon a time the atrocities of demon king Hiranyakashipu had increased. He made several attempts to kill his son and great devotee of Lord Vishnu, Prahlad. Then God ended it by taking the incarnation of Narasimha. On the twelfth day of Phalgun month, the Lord incarnated in the form of half lion and half human by splitting the pillar.
