YEIDA Japan City project: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has identified 1000 acres of land for Japan City and Singapore City in Greater Noida and sent the proposal to the government. Integrated Industrial City will be developed on EPC mode in Sector-5A and 7.
A major administrative initiative has come to light amid the rapidly changing industrial scenario around Yamuna Expressway. Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has sent a formal proposal to the government regarding the development of the proposed ‘Japan City’ and ‘Singapore City’ in the Greater Noida area. In the letter issued on 18 February 2026, the authority has given detailed information in this regard to the Commissioner of Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh. This step is considered to be part of the strategy to attract foreign investment and develop integrated industrial clusters in the state.
In which sectors will new cities be established?
Authority CEO R.K. According to Singh, land has been identified for both the proposed projects and the plan related to land acquisition is also ready.
- Japan City: Sector-5A, Greater Noida – 500 acres
- Singapore City: Sector-7, Greater Noida – 500 acres
Sector-5A and Sector-7 are already planned as multipurpose industrial areas under the master plan. Here
- Minimum 70% area for industrial use
- Maximum 12% residential use
- Maximum 13% commercial use
- Minimum 5% is earmarked for institutional facilities
In the letter of the authority, the possibility of developing these areas as integrated industrial cities has been expressed.

Reference related to the Chief Minister’s proposed foreign trip
It is also mentioned in the letter that in the context of the Chief Minister’s proposed visit to Japan and Singapore, it was expected to identify the relevant areas and provide information. In the same sequence, the authority has identified Sector-5A and Sector-7 for the proposed cities. Experts believe that this initiative can be an important step towards providing a dedicated industrial ecosystem to foreign companies.
Development will be done on EPC mode
The development of both the projects is proposed on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) mode. In this model, project design, material procurement and construction work are completed by a single agency within the stipulated time frame. Through this, efforts are made to ensure transparency and timeliness in the work. Land acquisition process is proposed and after this infrastructure development will be done in a phased manner.
Potential impact on investment and employment
If these projects proceed as per plan, industrial investment in Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway area may get a new impetus.

If everything progresses as per plan, the Yamuna Expressway area could emerge on a new industrial map in the coming years.
