Maruti Suzuki eVitara launched in India: Full price comparison with key electric SUV rivals

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has introduced its first electric car in the Indian market, called the eVitara. The SUV was earlier showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, and the India-ready version has now been officially launched. The company is selling it in two ways, customers can either opt for the Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan or buy the vehicle with the battery included in the full price.

The launch puts Maruti Suzuki directly into the growing electric SUV segment. The eVitara will compete with models like the MG Windsor EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV and Vinfast VF 6. Here’s a simple look at how its pricing stands against these rivals.

eVitara prices under BaaS

The BaaS model allows customers to buy the vehicle without paying the full cost of the battery upfront. Instead, the battery is provided on a rental basis, and users pay a fixed charge per kilometre.

The Maruti eVitara is priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom) under the BaaS model. For the 49 kWh battery version, the rental charge is Rs 3.99 per km. The larger 61 kWh battery comes with a rental cost of Rs 4.39 per km. The smaller battery offers a claimed range of 440 km, while the bigger one promises 543 km.

Without BaaS, meaning with full battery ownership, the eVitara is priced between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 20.01 lakh (ex-showroom).
