T20 World Cup: Unbeaten India finish group stage with win over Netherlands

New Delhi: Clinical India finished the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 unbeaten after beating Netherlands by 17 runs in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Though the Dutch made the things tough for the Men in Blue at the Narendra Modi Stadium but the hosts somehow managed to hold their nerves till the end, though not being able to bundle out the opposition.

This was India’s 12th consecutive win at the marquee event. Meanwhile, chasing a high score of 194 runs, spirited Netherland batters helped the side come close to a win against India but at the end, they fell short by few runs. Bas de Leede, Zach Lion-Cachet, and Noah Croes made valuable efforts for the side in the chase with scores of 33, 26 and 25 while Michael Levitt and Max O’Dowd also contributed with small effort to help the Dutch come close.

For India, Varun Chakaravarthy once again proved to be the game-changer with figures of 3 for 14 in 3 overs while Shivam Dube, who starred with the bat, also claimed two wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya also picked up a wicket apiece to lend their efforts.
