This time the festival of Laddu Maar Holi will be celebrated on 25th February in Shri Radha Rani temple of Barsana. Lathmar Holi will be played the next day i.e. on 26th February. The beauty of Braj is very special on this day.
This is how Laddu Maar Holi started
According to the legend, in Dwapar era, Shriradha Rani’s father Vrishabhanu ji sent an invitation to play Holi in Krishna ji’s village Nandgaon. Lord Shri Krishna accepted his invitation. After this God sent a panda to Barsana. When the Gopis came to know that Lord Krishna was coming to Barsana to play Holi, they jumped with joy.
On this happy occasion, Radha ji’s friends poured gulal on Panda ji. Not only this, when Radha ji’s father gave laddus to Panda to eat, the Gopis started throwing laddus at Panda ji in joy. Panda also threw laddus on the gopis. It is believed that since then the celebration of Laddu Maar Holi started in Braj.
