Now LPG cylinder will reach home in minutes like ration and vegetables, big deal made between Instamart and HPCL

In this era of technology and quick commerce, the day is not far when you will not have to worry if you suddenly run out of gas while cooking. Quick commerce platform Swiggy Instamart and giant government oil company HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) have together launched a revolutionary service in India. Now, like your everyday groceries, you will also be able to order on-demand LPG gas cylinder through Swiggy Instamart app. Let us understand in simple language what this entire service is, how it will work and how much it is going to change the lives of common consumers.

Service will start from Bangalore

India’s quick commerce platform, Instamart and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited have made a big announcement. Under this, for the first time in the country, on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service will be started on the Quick Commerce platform. With this partnership, HPCL’s newly launched ‘HP Navya’ – a 10 kg composite LPG cylinder from Next Genation – is also coming into the market. This service will first start in Bengaluru, where customers will be able to order HP Navya cylinders and existing 5 kg metal LPG cylinders directly through the Instamart app. The companies did not give any time frame for expanding this service outside Bengaluru.

There will be no need for connection

According to the companies, no existing domestic LPG connection will be required to place the order. This will make the service available to more customers, including students, working people and small families who may not have a formal gas connection. The first time the order is placed, it will be treated as a purchase of a new cylinder, which will include the process of identity verification and proof of delivery documents. Subsequent orders will be treated as refills, with the empty cylinder taken back at the time of delivery.

These people will get relief

HPCL has introduced HP Navya cylinder as a lightweight and rust-proof alternative to traditional steel cylinders. Its body is transparent, through which the user can see the level of gas. The company said that its compact design is for apartments, small families and homes that want a convenient secondary LPG cylinder. Orders placed through Instamart will be fulfilled through HPCL’s registered distributor network. Delivery will be done by trained employees of the distributor as per safety and regulatory rules.

Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha said the company has expanded beyond groceries to become a part of customers’ everyday lives. The partnership with HPCL elevates this convenience to an essential household service while maintaining the standards of security and reliability. HPCL Marketing Director Amit Garg said the company is focusing on making LPG more accessible for the “new India” with emphasis on safety and reliability. He said that the partnership with Instamart will help HPCL reach customers through a faster and digital platform and improve the customer experience.
