Disha Patani house firing: Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide arrested

Mumbai: Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide Mahfooz, also known as Bobby Kabootar, was arrested in the Disha Patani house firing case. This is a breakthrough as Mahfooz had been evading arrest for seven years.

As per reports, the Delhi Police Special Cell’s Counter-Intelligence team caught the gangster near the Delhi–Gurugram border in a carefully planned operation. It is a victory for the law enforcement agents who have tirelessly been chasing Mahfooz for years. The criminal is accused of playing a major role in the shooting incident that took place outside Disha’s residence in Bareilly.

Reportedly, he arranged weapons from abroad for the shooters. He is then questioned to determine who gave the order to supply arms for the attack. The cops are also trying to figure out if there was a bigger conspiracy in the incident. The police described Mahfooz as a significant link in the organised crime networks operating out of North East Delhi.

His name has popped up several times, and he has been on the radar of both the Delhi Police and the National Investigation Agency. He is also wanted in the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and for alleged participation in the murder of the Nadeem Brothers.

Disha Patani’s house firing incident

The shooting outside the actress’s home took place in the early hours of September 12, 2025. The shooting that took place at around 3:45 am shocked the neighbourhood. At the time of the shooting, Patani’s father, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani, her mother, and elder sister Khushbu Patani, were present at the residence. Soon after the incident, Canada-based criminal gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the event. He stated that the shooting was a sign of protest against the statements made by Patani’s father and sister against Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya.

Later, the two accused in the case were killed in a police encounter.
