Ladli Laxmi Yojana 2.0 was also mentioned in detail in the budget. According to the Finance Minister, 52 lakh 29 thousand girls are being benefited under this scheme, while 14 lakh 12 thousand girls have been provided scholarship.
A provision of Rs 1,800 crore has been made in this scheme for the year 2026-27. The government aims to provide continuity to girls’ education and reduce economic barriers to their access to higher education.
Education experts say that investment in girls’ education is directly related to the human development index of the state. If scholarship and incentive schemes are implemented effectively, it will have long term social and economic impact.
