According to belief, worshiping with this method on Manorath Chaturthi brings quick results. Wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean red or yellow clothes. Take a pledge to fast. In the auspicious time of afternoon, install the idol of Lord Ganesha on the post. Anoint Lord Ganesha with Ganga water and Panchamrit. Offer vermilion, akshat, durva and red flowers to the Lord. Offer his favorite modak or laddu to Lord Ganesha. Recite the fast story and at the end perform the aarti of Lord Ganesha with a ghee lamp. Remember that seeing the moon on Vinayak Chaturthi is considered inauspicious, so avoid seeing the moon at night.
