YouTube went down in many countries, due to which users saw an error on the home page. Over 19,000 complaints were registered in India on Downdetector this morning. YouTube said they are investigating the issue.
New Delhi: The famous video platform YouTube was down in many countries. On the outage tracking website DownDetector, lakhs of users reported the problems they were facing in YouTube. The main problem was that users in many countries were not able to open the home page of YouTube. According to reports, on opening YouTube, the message ‘Something Error’ was visible on the home page.
What happened to YouTube?
National media India Today reports that YouTube users logged nearly 20,000 complaints in an hour between 6:30 am and 7:30 am today, DownDetector reports. Of these, 74 percent of the problems were related to the YouTube app and 16 percent were related to video streaming. As of 7:11 am on Tuesday, YouTube users in India filed 19,097 complaints on Downdetector, Hindustan Times reported. Users have reported problems with video streaming, app access and website loading. Following complaints from users, YouTube said in a statement that they are investigating the issue and will update more information soon.
There has been a flood of screenshots related to YouTube’s problem on social media platform X. Many YouTube users shared screenshots of the ‘something error’ message on X from their different devices. This global glitch has worried YouTube users around the world.
