The T20 World Cup 2026 has shown a shocking scene, which hardly anyone would have thought about even a week ago. Former champion and one of the title contenders, Australia cricket team had to look out of the tournament even before playing all its 4 matches of the group stage. Australia’s journey ended early due to defeats at the hands of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. This has had a tremendous impact on the Super-8 round, where Zimbabwe has now got its place, where it will be in Team India’s group. With the entry of Zimbabwe, it has become clear that when, where and with which team Team India will face.
Australia had to face defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in the World Cup on Monday 16 February. Due to this, the fate of the Australian team depended on the Zimbabwe-Ireland match. But on Tuesday, 17 February, this match was canceled due to rain and thus Australia was out of the tournament. 8 teams were already given seeding for the Super-8, in which Australia was given x2 seeding in 1 group. But now Zimbabwe has entered this group instead of Australia.
As soon as Zimbabwe reached the Super-8, the picture of the 7 teams making it to this round has become clear. Apart from India and Zimbabwe, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and England have reached the next round. Now there is competition between Pakistan and America for the last place. It will be decided by the Pakistan-Namibia match on Wednesday 18th February. But with the arrival of these 7 teams, it has become clear which team will be in which group. According to the pre-decided seeding, the Indian team has been placed in Group 1. Here he is accompanied by South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe. England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand have made it to Group 2, while either Pakistan or USA will reach it.

All four teams of Group-1 have been decided, hence the schedule of Team India is also clear now. The Super-8 round will start from Saturday 21st February but Team India will start its journey in this round from Sunday 22nd February. Team India’s schedule in Super-8 is as follows-
