After murder, brutality with dead body, then absconding to Mumbai
According to the police, after killing the student, the accused did inhuman acts with the dead body. After this he absconded and kept hiding at many places including Mumbai and Panvel. Investigating officials say that on the basis of technical evidence and location tracking, his presence was identified in Maharashtra. After this, a team of Indore Police reached Mumbai and detained him.

Watch tantric video in the name of ‘forgiveness from soul’
During interrogation, the accused claimed that after the murder he started feeling remorse and wanted to “apologise to the soul” of the girl. According to police sources, he watched videos related to so-called Tantric rituals on the Internet and YouTube and getting influenced by them, he allegedly tried to contact the soul through some Tantric ritual in a deserted area of Mumbai. However, police officials have clarified that these statements of the accused are under investigation and the process of verification is going on.
Tension increased regarding marriage, rift in relationship
Investigation has revealed that the accused and the deceased studied in the same institute and both had a close relationship. The accused wanted to get married, but the student allegedly wanted to end the relationship and was not ready for marriage. From here the tension between the two started increasing.
On the day of the incident, the accused called the student to his room on the pretext of talking. During the conversation there, he saw a betting or chatting app in the student’s mobile, which made him suspect that she was in contact with another youth. During this suspicion and argument, the accused allegedly strangulated her to death.
Police say that on the basis of post-mortem report and forensic investigation, the possibility of rape after murder has also emerged, which is being scientifically investigated.
Secret revealed due to foul smell, dead body found on 13th February
This heinous incident came to light on February 13, when people living nearby started smelling a strong foul smell coming from the room. In case of suspicion, the police was informed. The team reached the spot and recovered the body of the student from the room. The condition of the dead body was suspicious, after which investigation was started from both murder and rape angles.
Missing was registered on 12th February
The family members of the deceased had filed a missing report on February 12 itself. Later, when the body was identified, the family was informed. Krishnalal Chandni, DCP Crime, said that the accused is being detained and interrogated. In the initial phase, he is giving different statements, due to which there is a possibility of misleading the investigation. Police have registered a case under various sections including murder and rape and have started further legal action.
