Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated the farmers of the state on their great achievement. He said that the state government is fully committed to the welfare of farmers and decisions are continuously being taken in the interest of farmers. The Chief Minister said that this time Madhya Pradesh has created a new record by purchasing wheat from the maximum number of farmers in the entire country.

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state has purchased 1 crore 4 lakh 31 thousand metric tons of wheat, breaking all its previous records. Expressing happiness, he said that Madhya Pradesh has reached the first position in the country in terms of purchasing wheat from maximum farmers at support price. Besides, Madhya Pradesh was also the state which ran the wheat procurement system for the longest period.

Wheat Procurement in Madhya Pradesh: The state is also in a strong position in wheat production.

The Chief Minister said that if we talk about wheat production and procurement in the country, Madhya Pradesh ranks second after Punjab. Despite large scale wheat production in the state, the government has provided relief to the farmers by making record purchases. He said that for the first time the state government has given priority to small and middle class farmers and decided to buy their produce. The government has purchased about 32.72 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from small farmers. CM said that wheat has been purchased from about 13 lakh 75 thousand farmers at support price. The produce of the farmers who had registered has safely reached the warehouses.

MSP on Wheat: Farmers got better price with bonus

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that despite international circumstances and many challenges, record wheat has been procured under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, giving priority to the interests of farmers. He said that during the Farmer Welfare Year, the state government has transferred an amount of more than Rs 24 thousand crore to the farmers. The government purchased wheat from farmers at a total rate of Rs 2625 per quintal including support price of Rs 2585 per quintal and bonus of Rs 40.

The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is to increase the income of farmers and make agriculture more profitable. There is a possibility of further increase in the Minimum Support Price i.e. MSP in the coming time and farmer welfare schemes will be implemented more rapidly.

Farmer Welfare in MP: Government will work continuously for farmer welfare

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that it is a matter of good fortune to have record wheat production in the state. He said that due to the hard work of farmers and government schemes, Madhya Pradesh is continuously progressing in the agriculture sector. The Chief Minister assured that the state government will continue to protect the interests of farmers in future and will implement new schemes to strengthen the agriculture sector. Describing farmers as the backbone of the state’s economy, he said that if farmers prosper, Madhya Pradesh will also develop rapidly.
