Box office report: O Romeo tops Bollywood race, Tu Yaa Main struggles amid four-way showdown

Box office collection: The Valentine’s Day box office turned into a four-way showdown as Tu Yaa Main, O’Romeo, With Love, and Wuthering Heights battled for audience attention across India and overseas. While some films soared, others struggled to stay afloat.

O’Romeo box office collection worldwide

Leading the Bollywood race, O’Romeo saw a noticeable dip on Monday. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor alongside Triptii Dimri, the gangster drama opened at Rs 8.5 crore. It grew to Rs 12.65 crore on Saturday before slipping to Rs 9 crore on Sunday, partly due to the India vs Pakistan cricket buzz. On Day 4, the film collected Rs 4.05 crore, its lowest single-day total so far, taking its domestic tally to Rs 34.9 crore. According to Sacnilk, the worldwide collection of the film stands at Rs 51.2 crore.

Despite positive reviews and a strong ensemble cast including Nana Patekar and Tamannaah Bhatia, the numbers haven’t matched early expectations.

Tu Yaa Main box office collection

Meanwhile, survival drama Tu Yaa Main, directed by Bejoy Nambiar and starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, continues to underperform. After earning Rs 0.6 crore on Friday and Rs 1.45 crore on Saturday, the film dropped sharply to Rs 0.35 crore on Monday. Its total now stands at Rs 3.35 crore, with Monday occupancy at just 9.61 per cent. Domestically, the film minted Rs 2.85 crore, as per Sacnilk.

The thriller is centred on two polar opposite content creators trapped in a deadly survival game. However, it hasn’t connected with audiences despite its intriguing premise.

With Love box office collection

In contrast, romantic drama With Love has shown steady momentum. Directed by Madhan and led by Anaswara Rajan, the film crossed Rs 20 crore, reaching Rs 20.44 crore India net by Day 11. It added Rs 54 lakh on Monday alone. According to Sacnilk, the worldwide collection of the film is Rs 26.55 crore. Tamil Nadu remains its strongest market, recording a 16.56 per cent occupancy. Positive word of mouth and emotional storytelling appear to have worked in its favour.

Funky box office collection

Funky enjoyed a steady start at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 6.61 crore India net in its first four days. The film opened with Rs 2.2 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 1.9 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.65 crore on Sunday. However, collections dipped sharply on Monday, bringing in Rs 0.86 crore as per rough data. Day 5 figures are yet to be finalised.

Directed by Anudeep KV and backed by Srikara Studios, Fortune Four Cinemas and Sithara Entertainments, the film has grossed Rs 9.8 crore worldwide so far, as per Sacnilk.

Wuthering Heights box office collection in India

Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, dominated the global box office. The adaptation earned $38 million (Rs 317 crore) domestically over the four-day holiday weekend and $45 million (Rs 380 crore) overseas, totalling $83 million worldwide (Rs 754 crore approx.).
