AI will change the picture of India
16 February 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, is not just a date but a new chapter in Indian technological history. ‘India-AI Impact Summit 2026’ has started here. Often when we talk about technology, our eyes are towards the west, but the direction of the wind has changed. This summit has made one thing clear that India is no longer just a consumer or buyer in the world of technology, but has now come into the role of a producer. The eyes of the whole world are on this event taking place in Delhi. The discussion here is not just about coding or algorithms, but about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can eliminate hunger, disease and inconvenience from the life of a common man.
Dirt will no longer bother you during train journey
The most bitter experience of every passenger traveling in Indian Railways is often related to cleanliness, especially toilets. But now this picture is about to change. Railways is now using AI to monitor cleanliness. Chief Project Engineer of Railway Information Center Laxman Jain said that this system is not just on paper, but it has also been started on an experimental basis in 100 trains of the country.
It is interesting to know how this system works. Now the sanitation workers will not get a chance to avoid work. The staff will have to upload their photo on the app as soon as they board the train. Not only this, it has been made mandatory to send ‘before’ and ‘after’ photographs of the toilet being cleaned. That means, unless there is proof of cleanliness, the work will not be considered completed.
AI will save the food provider from losses by becoming ‘saathi’
Uncertainty is the biggest fear in farming. Sometimes due to bad weather, sometimes due to lack of information about market prices. But now ‘Saathi’ (companion) has come for the farmers. This is an AI tool that will prevent farmers from shooting in the dark. This tool will analyze the farmer’s land and soil samples and tell what will be beneficial to grow on that piece of land and what will not.
Not only this, farmers often have to wander to buy good fertilizer or seeds. E-commerce facility has also been added to the Sathi app, through which farmers will be able to directly purchase high quality goods. Keeping in mind the health of the farmers, such smart boots will also be included in the future, which will keep the feet safe from infections caused by soil. This technology has the power to transform farming from a loss-making business to a profitable one.
‘Puchu’ will keep an eye on factories, major accidents will be averted
Human life has the highest value, especially in dangerous factories. Tata’s Global Head Laxman Parthastri has unveiled a device whose name is ‘Puchu’. This name may sound like a toy, but its work is very serious. This is an AI monitoring device.
Puchhu can easily reach those corners of the factory where it would be fatal for humans to reach there. The modern sensors and cameras installed in it remain awake 24 hours. Be it gas leaking, smell of fire or smoke, Puchhu immediately senses the danger and sends an alert. Its battery backup is so strong that it works like a security guard continuously without sleeping.
The world trusts India’s potential
The importance of this summit can be gauged from the fact that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has also praised India. He clearly said that after America, India is their second largest user base. Altman believes that India has the full potential to become a leader in the global race of AI.
OpenAI opened its first office in Delhi last year i.e. in 2025 and now they are planning their expansion in 2026. He says that he is committed to developing AI for India and with India.
