India is going to write a new chapter in the war against dengue. The end of dengue responsible for the death of hundreds of people every year is very close. The process of preparing the country’s first indigenous vaccine against dengue spreading due to mosquitoes is increasing rapidly. The clinical trial of this vaccine being prepared by the Indian Council of Medical Research i.e. ICMR and an Indian company is going on.
‘Indigenous weapons’ against dengue
Dengue becomes the cause of disease of thousands of people and death of hundreds of people every year during the rainy season. Efforts are on to prepare the country’s first indigenous vaccine to fight this. The clinical trial of this vaccine being prepared by the Indian Council of Medical Research i.e. ICMR and an Indian company is going on. It is believed that this vaccine can be ready in the next two years. That is, by the end of the year 2027, it can be sent for approval of the vaccine drug regulator and only then it will be available to the common people.
How effective will the vaccine be?
According to Health Expert Dr. Sameer Bhati, it will be a Tetra Vale Vaccine, that is, it will work against all four of the dengue serotypes. Dr. Sameer Bhati says that after this vaccine arrives in the market, the number of dengue deaths can be reduced by 80 to 90 percent.
How will the vaccine work?
After the arrival of dengue vaccine, there may be a decrease in cases of dengue death and serious disease. The purpose of this vaccine is to strengthen the body’s immune system. So that the infection of dengue is not able to take serious form and the patient’s life can be saved. Although no vaccine guarantees completely safety from the disease, the threat will be reduced to a great extent due to the strengthening of the immune system.
Why is the vaccine special?
This vaccine will prove to be an unprecedented step in the direction of self -sufficient India. This vaccine is completely indigenous, that is, the development and trial of this vaccine has been done in India itself. This vaccine will prove to be effective against all four serotypes of dengue, which has been considered a big challenge till now.
What will be the benefit of vaccine?
Dengue is a very serious and fatal disease. Once the vaccine arrives, the risk of this disease becomes severe or the risk of death will be reduced to a great extent. Children, elderly and people with weak immunity will benefit more by using it. However, even after the arrival of the vaccine, mosquito control and cleanliness will be required, because no vaccine can give 100 percent guarantee to protect against the disease.
