In the Group B match between Australia and Sri Lanka, Nissanka surprised everyone with his fielding. In this match being held to make a place in the Super-8 round, the Sri Lankan player made a big difference with his catch. This catch of his was special because before that he had dropped an easy catch but then compensated for it by taking one of the best catches of the tournament.

This miracle of Nissanka was seen in the match between Australia and Sri Lanka on Monday 16th February in Pallekele. Maxwell played a reverse sweep on the first ball of spinner Dushan Hemanta’s over. The ball was passing over the backward point but before the ball could go towards the boundary, Nissanka, stationed there, jumped in the air to his left and took the catch. The ball was so fast that when Nissanka took the catch, his hands were far behind the body. This catch blew everyone’s senses.

When Nissanka dropped the catch on the second ball of the 16th over, Australia’s score was 151 runs at the loss of 4 wickets and Maxwell was on 18 runs. The score of 200 seemed certain for Australia. At that time Australia’s score was 160 runs and Australia lost 6 wickets including Maxwell on the next 21 runs.
