Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG company of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has formed a joint venture with Nigeria’s Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group with an aim to expand its business in one of the largest consumer markets in Africa. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance has signed a final agreement to form a majority stake joint venture with TGI Group, which is pending legal and regulatory approvals. Through this joint venture, Reliance Consumer Products will introduce a wide range of its FMCG products to consumers in Nigeria, leveraging TIGI’s established FMCG manufacturing and distribution experience and network.

RCPL Director T. Krishnakumar said that this joint venture with TGI Group will prove to be an important milestone in RCPL’s journey towards becoming a global FMCG player. The company is already present in the international markets of Middle East, South Asia and Africa. The company aims to establish itself as a leading global FMCG company from India and provide global quality products at affordable prices. Krishnakumar said that this will play an important role in enhancing RCPL’s global market presence while entering the important market of Nigeria. He further said that TGI Group is a trusted partner, and has deep expertise in sectors like FMCG, culinary and agri business.
