JEE Main Result 2026 Released: The wait for the students appearing in JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination is over. National Testing Agency (NTA), the examination conducting agency, has released the result today on 16 February 2026. It has been clarified by NTA that candidates can check and download their scorecard by visiting the official website of National Testing Agency’s JEE portal jeemain.nta.nic.in. How to check JEE Main Result 2026
Candidates can check their result by following the easy steps given below-
- Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the link “JEE Main Session 1 Scorecard”.
- Enter your application number and password/date of birth in the asked space.
- As soon as you submit, your result will appear on the screen.
- Now download your scorecard and take a print out for future reference.

What is JEE Main marking scheme?
for mcq questions
- Correct answer: +4 points
- Wrong answer: -1 point
- Left without reply/review: 0 points
- If there is more than one correct option: +4 to those who choose the correct option.
- If question is dropped: Everyone will get full marks
For numerical value questions
- Correct answer: +4 points
- Wrong answer: -1 point
- No answer: 0 points
- If question is found wrong or deleted: All will get +4 marks
Will JEE Main candidates get a chance for re-checking?
According to NTA, there is no system of re-checking or re-evaluation of JEE Main result. Once the result is released, it will be considered final.
Who can give JEE Advanced?
Only the top 2.5 lakh successful candidates in the BE/B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. Through the score of this examination, admission is available in the IIT institutes of the country.
What is the importance of JEE Main?
Joint Entrance Examination Main is one of the biggest engineering entrance examinations in the country. This examination serves as a screening test for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) through Advanced. Apart from this, admission is also available in NIT, IIIT and many government and private engineering colleges on the basis of this score.
When was JEE Main Session 1 exam held?
Session 1 examination was conducted on multiple dates in January. Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) examination was held in two shifts on 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2026. The first shift was held from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift was held from 3 pm to 6 pm. Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) was conducted on 29 January in a single shift. The provisional answer key was released on 4th February and students were given a chance to lodge their objections till 6th February.
