Method of making clay substitute:
- Cocopeat (50%): It absorbs and retains moisture.
- Vermicompost (20%): It provides essential nutrition to the plants.
- Neem cake powder (10%): It protects the roots from insects.
- Ash and lime (5%): It compensates for the deficiency of calcium and potassium and keeps the soil light.
The water absorption capacity of this mixture is much higher than that of regular soil and the plants need to be watered once every two days.
