New Delhi [भारत]July 14 (ANI): Sangeet Natak Akademi President Sandhya Purecha spoke on the completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ and said that the National Drama Festival will be celebrated on the theme of national unity and patriotism.

Speaking to ANI, Purecha gave information about the program and said that its aim is to spread the message of ‘Vande Mataram’ and national unity to all.

President Sandhya Purecha said, “The National Drama Festival will be celebrated on the theme of national unity and patriotism. Artists from all sections of the society from all the states and union territories will participate in this program. This program will start from July 15 in various centers of the country. Through this we want to convey the message of Vande Mataram and national unity to everyone.”

Confluence of ‘Vande Mataram’ and Kalidas Jayanti

According to a press release, the National Drama Festival will be held to coincide with the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ and Kalidas Jayanti. To celebrate these important milestones, the Ministry of Culture has proposed to organize a National Drama Festival across the country on the theme “Vande Mataram – The spirit of patriotism through Indian theatre”.

“The festival will showcase India’s extraordinary theatrical diversity as well as strengthen the national vision of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and Developed India @2047,” the release said.

150 presentations, over 39 languages

As a part of this, the Ministry will organize a country-wide theater festival with 150 productions based on the theme “Vande Mataram – The Spirit of Patriotism”. Additionally, there will be presentations in over 39 Indian languages ​​and dialects, reflecting the linguistic richness of the country.

The festival will celebrate India’s theatrical heritage while honoring the enduring message of Vande Mataram. Bringing together thousands of artists, hundreds of institutions and millions of audiences, it will showcase the unifying power of theater and reaffirm India’s commitment to preserving and promoting its rich cultural heritage.
