It has been 36 years since the release of Amitabh Bachchan’s film Agneepath. This film of director Mukul Anand was released in 1990. However, the film did not perform well at the box office. Not only this, the film was a disaster because of one mistake. Its producer was Yash Johar.
Amitabh Bachchan’s 181-minute film Agneepath, released 36 years ago, created a lot of buzz before its release, but as soon as it reached the theaters, the audience went crazy after seeing it. It is said that the film was so rubbish that people even tore the seats in the theaters.
If reports are to be believed, director Mukul Anand had done many strange experiments in the film Agneepath. People rejected the film outright because of its excessive experimentation. Very few people know that during its shooting, cotton was stuffed in Amitabh Bachchan’s mouth so that his cheeks would not appear puffy and his voice would sound a little different. It is said that the song Jumma Chumma De De.. was written for the film Agripath. Later the makers felt that this song would not fit in the film so it was removed. Later this song was used in the film Hum and it was a super hit. Danny played the role of villain in the film Agneepath. There was a lot of thought about the name of his character in the film and finally he himself suggested the name Kancha Cheena. In this, Mithun Chakraborty played the character named Krishnan Iyer, who was inspired by one of his friends. The film was made with a budget of 4-5 crores and earned 10.5 crores and was a disaster.
In 2012, producer Karan Johar made the remake of Agneepath. Hrithik Roshan-Priyanka Chopra were in the lead roles in this film of director Karan Malhotra. Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Zarina Wahab, Om Puri, Pankaj Tripathi were also with him. The story of this film was similar to Amitabh Bachchan’s Agneepath.
Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath was made with a budget of Rs 58 crore. The movie was a huge hit at the box office and did a business of Rs 193 crore. This film was released on 26 January 2012 and became the sixth highest grossing film of the year.
