Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [भारत]July 14 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi on Tuesday questioned the alleged delay in police action on a complaint against a Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) functionary accused of allegedly sexually assaulting and trying to kidnap a young woman in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district, and urged TVK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to take immediate action.

In a post on X, Kanimozhi questioned why no action was taken against the Krishnapuram TVK union secretary despite a police complaint being lodged against him. “Why was appropriate action not taken despite a police complaint being filed against the Krishnapuram TVK union secretary who tried to sexually assault and kidnap a young woman near Kulithalai?” He wrote, குலித்திலை நார் முப்பண்ணுங்கை தொர்ட்டல்யி ஦ிக்கை, I lodged a complaint against Krishnarajayapuram தவேக union secretary at the police station for trying to kidnap her, why did I take appropriate action? Advice given to Chief Minister Vijay

He further targeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, saying that the Chief Minister should not only take immediate action against the accused but should also teach self-discipline to his party members. “Chief Minister Shri @TVKVijayHQ, who holds the police portfolio, should not only take immediate action against the accused party member but should first teach his party members a lesson in self-discipline,” he further said.
