Abhishek Sharma flops on return, bags duck in T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Pakistan

New Delhi: India’s in-form batter Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, February 15.

Pakistan’s skipper, Salman Ali Agha, opened the bowling for his side and dismissed India’s in-form batter on the last ball of the first over. Agha bowled three dot balls before trapping the explosive southpaw.

Salman, opening the bowling attack, turned out to be a masterstroke. The ball was flat and sliding in at the stumps, probably not short enough to pull, but Abhishek tried to pull the shot, miscued it to the mid-on, and Shaheen Afridi took an easy catch to send the left-handed batter to the pavilion.

Abhishek is the No. 1 batter in the T20I rankings, but both of his innings in the T20 World Cup 2026 ended in a duck. The left-handed batter missed the last game due to a stomach infection.

This is a developing story..
