Once again, big news has come out about Noida International Airport. Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi has announced that this grand airport being built in Jewar will start with domestic flights and cargo services from September 2025. At the same time, international flights will also start by November 2025. This is the third time the launch date of this mega project has been changed. Earlier it was planned to start in September 2024, then April 2025 and after that the date of June 2025 was fixed. But now the final date has been announced by September and November 2025.
Kovid had put obstruction
Minister Nandi said that the Kovid-19 epidemic had put a brake at the speed of this project. Due to the epidemic, the construction work could not start on time, due to which the dates had to be postponed many times. But now the work is going on fast and the first phase is expected to be completed this year. In the first phase, this airport will have the capacity to handle 1.2 crore passengers every year. Nandi also reviewed the progress of the project in his two -day visit to Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida). During this, he said, by November 2025, Noida International Airport will be fully ready. This will not only be the largest airport in Asia, but will also emerge as the fourth largest airport in the world.
This mega airport will be built in four stages
Noida International Airport is being developed in four phases and its total cost is Rs 29,650 crore. On the first phase, Rs 10,056 crore will be spent, in which a runway and a terminal building will be prepared. This terminal will be able to serve 1.2 crore passengers every year. By 2040, when all four phases are completed, then this airport will have the capacity of 7 crore passengers every year. This project will prove to be a milestone not only for Uttar Pradesh, but for the whole country.
Minister Nandi described this airport as the pride of UP. He said that this will not only be a world class facility for the passengers, but this area will also become a new center of economic and industrial development. With the introduction of Jewar Airport, trade, tourism and investment in Noida and surrounding areas will get a tremendous boost.
1.32 lakh jobs expected to be born
During the visit of Nandi, several major infrastructure projects of Rs 45,148 crore were also discussed in Noida and adjoining areas. These projects are expected to produce about 1.32 lakh jobs. The minister gave strict instructions to the officials that all landholding companies should start construction work within the stipulated time and complete the work according to the approved detailed project report (DPR).
He also asked to ensure that quality and timeliness should be taken care of in all projects. Nandi said, these projects will take UP to new heights of development. Our aim is to make Noida and Jewar the largest industrial and economic hub in the country.
Work is going on on many more projects
Apart from the airport, work is going on in many more big projects in jewelry and surrounding areas. These include projects like state -of -the -art Hospital, proposed Film City, Fintech City, Toy Park, Furniture Park, Apparel Park and MSME Cluster. All these projects will play an important role in making Noida and Greater Noida a global hub.
Film City Project will promote Bollywood and regional cinema, while Fintech City will become a new center for startups and technology companies. Projects like Toy Park and Apparel Park will promote small and medium enterprises, which will provide new possibilities to local artisans and entrepreneurs. The MSME cluster will support small businesses and strengthen the local economy.
UP’s name will be illuminated
Minister Nandi repeatedly emphasized that Noida International Airport and its related projects will give new identity to UP on the global stage. He said, this airport is not just a building, but a symbol of the development of UP. Through this, we will not only provide better facilities to the passengers, but will also open new employment opportunities for millions of people.
With the commencement of Jewar Airport, air travel and cargo services in Delhi-NCR region will get a new dimension. Also, it will make Uttar Pradesh an attractive destination for investment and tourism. Local people believe that this airport will not only increase their facilities, but will also have economic and social development of the area.
