While conducting a high-level review of the training system of Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the changing times, policing is no longer limited to law and order only. Modern technology, understanding of cyber crimes, communication skills, forensic expertise and sensitive behavior have become the biggest requirements for effective policing.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to make the police training system completely technology-based, practical, result-oriented and time-based, so that Uttar Pradesh Police can be established as the most reliable, disciplined and efficient police force in the country.

UP Police Training System: Emphasis on modern technology and transparency

The Chief Minister said that quality, transparency and uniformity should be ensured in police training institutes. Maximum use of modern technologies should be made during training and regular evaluation system should also be implemented. He clearly said that policemen should not be limited to just enforcing the law, but they should also be trained in communication skills, human behavior and taking right decisions in stressful situations.

Police Academy Moradabad: Training capacity increased from 18 thousand to 60 thousand.

It was informed in the meeting that under the Directorate of Police Training, Police Academy Moradabad, 11 training institutes, 6 police training schools, 2 armed police training institutes and 62 temporary and 31 permanent recruit training centers are being run. The final examinations were conducted in a transparent manner by starting the training simultaneously at 112 Recruit Training Centers and the results were also declared simultaneously. The training capacity in the state has been increased from 18 thousand to 60,244.

Along with this, the training courses have been updated as per the modern requirements and the standards of external subject matter experts have also been fixed to maintain the quality.

UP Police Training Portal: 5 thousand expert trainers ready

Digital training material is being made available to trainers and trainees through the UP Police Training Portal. So far 5,000 expert trainers have been prepared. It was told in the meeting that Uttar Pradesh Police has performed brilliantly on the iGOT portal under Mission Karmayogi. Till May 27, 2026, 3,90,799 police officers and personnel have been registered on the portal and 59,02,703 courses have been completed. On March 20, 2026, 149 units of UP Police were linked to the iGOT portal, which has enabled better monitoring of training at the district, corps and unit levels.

Sadhana Week Achievement: UP Police number-1 in the country in Sadhana Week

It was informed in the meeting that Uttar Pradesh Police secured the first position among all the state police forces and central police organizations in the Sadhna Saptah organized from April 2 to April 10, 2026. UP Police alone completed more than 28 lakh courses, which was more than the combined performance of many states. During this period, 2,61,032 police personnel completed more than 2 hours and 2,16,724 personnel completed more than 4 hours of learning time. And 2,45,645 policemen also completed AI based courses. The Chief Minister directed to develop role based online training programs rapidly.

National Defense University: Police officers are getting degrees

Under the MoU signed with the National Defense University, 34 Deputy Superintendents of Police who completed their training in November 2025 were awarded the degree of ‘MA in Police Science and Strategic Management’. Whereas in May 2026, 47 sub-inspectors who completed their training at the Police Academy Moradabad were awarded ‘PG Diploma in Police and Security Management’.

UP Police Recruitment Training: Thousands of policemen will be trained

It was told in the meeting that basic training of a large number of police personnel is proposed in the coming time. This includes 4,253 sub-inspectors of civil police, 15,131 constables of PAC/armed police, 2,282 women PAC constables, 10,469 constables of civil police and 1,341 UPSSF constables. Apart from this, preparations are also being made for training of 4,500 sub-inspectors of civil police and platoon commanders. 11 new sensitivity modules have been added to the training curriculum.

Operational mock drills and special capsule courses will also be conducted by agencies like ATS, STF, NDRF, SDRF, RAF, UP-112, Women Powerline, Childline, BDS and Fire Services.

Cyber ​​Forensic Lab: Emphasis on drones and cyber forensic technology

State-of-the-art technologies are being included in police training. Under this, facilities like drone training, cyber forensic lab, forensic lab, driving simulator and firing simulator are being developed. Online training will also be provided by experts through smart classrooms.

Police Behavior Training: There will be special training for policemen with bad behavior.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the behavior of policemen is the real identity of the police. It was told in the meeting that 5,816 policemen who had complained of misbehavior from the public have been identified. A special training program for communication skills and gentle behavior has been started for these policemen. Special training was given to 37 policemen by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai in February 2026.

Impact Assessment System has been implemented to assess the impact of training. In this, evaluation is being done on 18 points like women respect, stress management, leadership ability, team spirit, communication skills and sensitive behavior.

Maldives Police Training: UP Police Academy may get international recognition

It was informed in the meeting that for the first time, a proposal to provide training to sub-inspectors of Maldives Police Service at Uttar Pradesh Police Academy, Moradabad is under consideration at the Central Government level. The proposal is funded by the Ministry of External Affairs and routed through the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Chief Minister described this as an important step towards internal security cooperation between India and neighboring countries.

CM Yogi Instructions: There should be continuous innovation in police training

The Chief Minister directed that continuous innovation, accountability and inclusion of modern technologies should be ensured in the police training system. He said that Uttar Pradesh Police should be prepared to face every challenge with greater efficiency, sensitivity and professional capability.
