Vrinda Dinesh stars as India A hammer Pakistan A by 8 wickets in Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026

New Delhi: Opener Vrinda Dinesh starred with an unbeaten half-century as India A hammered Pakistan A by 8 wickets in their must-win clash in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 on Sunday, February 15. India A bounced back to winning ways in the tournament after losing to UAE in their opening game in the group stage.

The Radha Yadav-led side produced a stellar performance with the ball to bundle out Pakistan A for a paltry 93 before wrapping up the chase in just 10.1 overs to record a thumping victory. Despite losing opener Humairaa Kaazi cheaply on a duck in the run chase, India A dominated the proceedings courtesy of an unbeaten 55 from Vrinda.

The talented 24-year-old anchored India’s run chase to perfection, remaining unbeaten till the end. After Kaazi’s dismissal on the very first ball of India A’s innings, Vrinda combined with the talented Anushka Sharma (24) to add a 79-run stand for the second wicket to set the tone for a dominant win for India.

The partnership was broken by Momina Riasat in the 9th over when Anushka was dismissed on 24 after getting caught by Shawaal Zulfiaqr. However, India had all but sealed the game by then. Tejal Hasabnis, who arrived at no.4, played a cameo of 5-ball 12 not out to combine with Dinesh and take India home comfortably in just 10.1 overs.
