Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 14 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday hit back at the statement of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha on the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 paper leak issue and asked whether Congress MPs are seeking information while being present in the country or are seeking answers through social media while sitting abroad.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier said that around six lakh candidates are in limbo with the TET 2026 exam being canceled following the paper leak, and no new date for the exam has been announced.

Fadnavis’s reply to Rahul Gandhi

Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism, Fadnavis told reporters here, “I would like to tell Rahul Gandhi that this matter has been investigated and action has been taken. I would also like to tell him that concrete steps are being taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. The most important thing is whether Rahul Gandhi is seeking this information while being present in our country – India – or sitting somewhere abroad and seeking answers through social media.”

In a post on Twitter on Tuesday, the opposition leader wrote, “Maharashtra TET paper leaked, exam cancelled. 6 lakh candidates in limbo. Two weeks passed, no sign of new date.”

What is TET paper leak issue?

The Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCE) had postponed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), which was scheduled to be held on June 28 across the state, after an alleged question paper leak came to light during a police investigation in Bhiwandi.

According to the council, the exam was scheduled to be conducted at 1,028 centers across Maharashtra.

In its public notice, MSCE said that despite implementing security measures following the irregularities that surfaced during the NEET 2026 exam, confidential information received early on Saturday revealed that some individuals in Bhiwandi allegedly had information related to the TET question paper.
