Yogi government’s ambitious vision to make every city of UP smart by 2047. Five international level smart cities, modern sewage management, 24 -hour power and better public transport will make the state an ideal model of UP.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a new direction to the urban development of Uttar Pradesh, putting the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Developed India @2047” on the ground in mission mode. In the next 22 years, five international level smart cities will be developed in the state, which will give a new identity to UP in the country and the world in terms of standard of living, investment and connectivity.
What will change by 2047?
The goal is to make every city smart under the ‘Developed UP 2047’ vision. This includes:
- Clean drinking water and 24 hours electricity
- Pucca houses and modern public transport
- Metro and light metro facilities
- Five international level smart cities will compete with global cities

PM Modi’s vision and Yogi government’s resolution
Sewage and waste management system will be developed on modern scientific basis in all cities in UP. This system will effectively dispose of dirty water and ensure solid waste management, collection, recycling and final disposal. This will keep the city clean, pollution-free and environmentally stable.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that urban development is not just a structure construction, but a mission to improve the standard of living of citizens. By putting the vision of Prime Minister Modi on the ground, UP will not only become the most developed state in India till 2047, but will also present the ideal model of world -class urban development.
Speed from 2017 to 2025: Historical changes in urban development
- 117 new urban bodies were created and 123 expanded
- 17 district headquarters were equipped with smart facilities
- State Capital Region (SRC) formed by combining 5 districts in Lucknow and nearby
- 100 asphalt cities brought to the mainstream
- Construction of 2534 km of roads and 342 km drains in 240 urban bodies
Planned urban development gained momentum with special focus on backward areas like Purvanchal and Bundelkhand.
This urban development model of the Yogi government is a decisive step towards making Uttar Pradesh a developed state by 2047. Modern infrastructure, smart facilities and planned development will make UP the center of urban innovation in the country and the world.
