Continuous efforts are being made to promote environmental protection and green development under the Bharat-Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) (VB-G Ramji) developed in Chhattisgarh. In this series, women of self-help groups associated with CLF cluster have prepared about 30 thousand seed balls in Gram Panchayat Godam of District Panchayat Sarangarh of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district. Through these seed balls, a plan has been made to increase the green cover by planting trees on a large scale during the rainy season.

Seed Ball Campaign: Public representatives and villagers celebrated seed planting festival by forming a human chain

The prepared seed balls were distributed to the Gram Panchayats of the cluster in the presence of the District Panchayat President, Collector, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Sarpanches of the cluster, officials of various departments and women of self-help groups. On this occasion, everyone together formed a human chain and celebrated the seed planting festival. During the program, a message was also given to the people to plant more and more trees under the VB-G Ramji campaign and ensure their participation in environmental protection.

Plantation Drive: Seed balls will be planted on ponds and ponds.

Officials told in the program that the seed balls prepared will be used on the ridges, banks of ponds and other suitable places of the ponds created under VB-G Ramji.
