Shivratri Auspicious Timings: Mahashivratri is considered to have a special significance in Sanatan Dharma. On this day devotees worship Lord Bholenath and observe a fast to please him. This time the fast of Mahashivratri will be observed on 15th February. This is not the only festival but it reminds us that in the night of extreme darkness, Shiva appears in the form of light. It is believed that on this night Shiva is present in the entire creation in the form of Lingam. Shiva does not mean destruction. It means destruction of ego, removal of ignorance. Meditation in silence, knowledge in wakefulness, freedom from hatred.

Evening puja timings: After Rahu period till 7:28 pm.
Nishit Kaal (most auspicious time of worship): From 12:09 pm to 1:00 am.
Rahu period: February 15, 4:47 pm to 6:11 pm. According to astrology, worship should not be started at this time.
