IND vs ENG 1st ODI: The bugle has sounded for the three-match One Day International series between India and England. The first match of this series has started at the historic Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. The match started in favor of England, where their captain Harry Brook won the toss and decided to bat first. On the other hand, when Indian captain Shubman Gill announced the playing eleven of Team India at the time of toss, everyone was surprised. Captain Gill took many surprising decisions in the very first match.
Kuldeep Yadav out, expressed confidence in Sundar
The most surprising decision of the Indian team management was seen in the spin department. Captain Shubman Gill showed the team’s full-time spinner Kuldeep Yadav out of the playing eleven. In his place, confidence was shown on spin all-rounder Washington Sundar. Coming to the pitches of England without a main spinner is being considered quite a shocking move. However, to add depth and strength to the team’s batting, along with Sundar, another spin all-rounder Akshar Patel has also been included in the playing eleven.
Jasprit Bumrah returns after 3 years
The biggest moment for Indian fans was the return of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is playing his first One Day International match after almost three years. He played his last ODI match in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad. Now he is completely refreshed and leading the pace attack. Along with Bumrah, the two biggest heroes of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have also taken the field together in ODI jersey after a long break of six months.
Shivam Dubey got a big opportunity
Shivam Dubey has also got a golden opportunity. Dubey played his last ODI match for the Indian team against Sri Lanka in August 2024, after which he has now returned to this format.
