The biggest match of the group stage of T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in Colombo on Sunday 15 February. Famous R. India and Pakistan will face each other in the Group A match at Premadasa Stadium. Similarly, this India-Pakistan match is watched the most, but after the recent controversy, the curiosity about this match is more than before. Also, like always, even before the match, former cricketers from both the countries have started making statements. But it seems that this time there is more fear of Indian opener Abhishek Sharma in Pakistan, due to which bad words have started being used against him.
Before this match against India, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir raised questions on the batting of young Indian opener Abhishek and said that he mostly fails. During a show on Pakistani TV, when Aamir was asked a question about Abhishek, he said these things and told that he knows nothing except batting on every ball.
‘He is just a charlatan, he will mostly fail’
Former pacer Aamir, who faced a ban of several years due to match fixing, called Abhishek a cheater. He said, “From what I have seen till now, he seems to me to be only a slugger. He has to bat on every ball, if he gets hit then it is fine, the day he gets hit, it is fine… Most of the time, there are chances of him failing. If there are 8 innings, there is a score in 1… I don’t think it is technically correct. If he gets hit, then it is fine, he can even trouble the other team.”
Muhammad Amir on Abhishek Sharma:
“Honestly, he’s just a slogger. His chances of failure are high. Hes not a technically sound batsman. Its not difficult to tackle such a batsman if you bowl on the body line. He will also struggle against slow balls.” pic.twitter.com/6lsABj8sdl

‘This is how you can get Abhishek out’
Aamir further said that any intelligent bowler can trap him. The left-arm pacer explained the method, “It is easier to deal with such batsmen if you do not give them the opportunity to open their hands. If you swing close to the body, they get trapped. Also, if there is a good slower ball, they will struggle because they hit hard shots.”
