Rajkumar Hirani will make a movie with AI
“I sometimes get very excited about AI things and want to make a short AI movie… So AI is going to be a really great instrument, and we should start adjusting to it very soon. It’s here to stay and is a great tool. Not that you have to use it, or make a completely AI movie. But it can be used to do a lot of things that we couldn’t do before.” It will also be economical. It is not that easy to make a completely AI film. Well, it is that much time consuming to make a completely AI film.
Hirani further added, “AI will prove to be a great tool. I am planning to make a short, four-five minute film. Because I have a story, and secondly, I feel I can learn best that way. So, along with scripting, I will be working on this in the next few months. I have a good story. Something interesting will definitely happen.”
Social media users protested
However, his statement sparked debate on social media. Many people questioned whether this would be the future of cinema, while some also asked why AI was being used to tell stories.
One user wrote, “What a sad loss of talent!” While another wrote, “AI is a curse for creativity.” Another comment said, “AI cannot and should not replace human creativity and art.”
One user wrote, “Maybe Rajkumar Hirani is attracted to new technology and wants to experiment. Although it is true that the generation of directors he belongs to, we expected him to change the industry, he gave 3-4 memorable projects and now he is not in so much demand. After becoming famous, these people lived the luxurious life of Bollywood and broke the connection with their art.” Another social media user wrote, “AI and creativity should not be mixed. I am a staunch supporter of this matter.”
