According to the Commission’s estimates, there are about 32 lakh names whose data mapping is incomplete or doubtful. In these cases, discrepancies have been found in age, date of birth, family details or address.
The duties of officers and employees have been continuously increased. The goal is clear—complete all the hearings by 21st February and release the error-free final voter list on 28th February.
Experts believe that such a thorough review strengthens the democratic process, but completing it within the time limit is also an administrative criterion.
