Stocks to watch today: Biocon, Muthoot Finance, ONGC and others in focus

Kolkata: The market came under significant selling pressure on Feb 13. Sensex 30 closed in the red by 558 points and touched 83,675 at close. Nifty 50 also closed 147 points lower at 25,807. Some select stocks may be in focus today due to several major results, orders, and management news. Along with the Dec quarter financial results, important corporate announcements from some stocks can also hold investor attention. Let’s have a closer look.

Q3 results expected Today

The following companies are supposed to announce their Dec quarter results. These are Ipca Laboratories, IRB Infrastructure Developers, Brainbees Solutions, Alkem Laboratories, Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Ola Electric Mobility, Azad Engineering, Siemens Energy India, Fortis Healthcare, GMR Airports, Inox Wind, KFin Technologies, Info Edge India, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Tenneco Clean Air India, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Vijaya Diagnostic Centre and Western Carriers India.

Companies in focus

Coal India: Coal India put up a weak performance in the Dec quarter. The company’s profit declined 15.6 percent year-on-year to Rs 7,166 crore, compared to Rs 8,491.2 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue fell 5.2 percent to Rs 34,924.2 crore.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation: ONGC’s profit increased 22.6 percent to Rs 11,946.4 crore. Revenue remained flat at Rs 1,674.22.9 crore. Other income increased 37 percent. The board announced an interim dividend of Rs 6.25 per share.

Hindalco Industries: Hindalco’s profit fell 45.1 percent to Rs 2,049 crore. However, revenue increased 13.9 percent to Rs 66,521 crore. An exceptional loss of Rs 2,610 crore was recorded for the quarter.

Indraprastha Gas: Indraprastha Gas’s profit increased by 20.6 percent to Rs 393.8 crore. The company’s revenue increased by 8.3 percent to Rs 4067.5 crore.

Biocon: Biocon’s profit increased nearly six-fold to Rs 143.8 crore. Revenue increased by 9.2 percent. There was also an exceptional loss of Rs 293.4 crore in the quarter.

Indian Hotels Company: Indian Hotels Company’s profit jumped 50.9 percent to Rs 954.2 crore. The company’s revenue increased by 12.2 percent to Rs 2842 crore.

Honasa Consumer: Honasa Consumer’s profit increased by 92.9 percent to Rs 50.2 crore. Revenue increased by 16.2 percent to Rs 601.5 crore.

Muthoot Finance: Muthoot Finance’s standalone profit jumped 94.9 percent to Rs 2,656.4 crore. The company’s revenue increased 64.1 percent to Rs 4,467.1 crore.

PI Industries: PI Industries’ profit declined 16.5 percent to Rs 311.3 crore. Revenue fell 27.6 percent to Rs 1,375.7 crore. Exceptional gain for the quarter was Rs 105.1 crore.

Hindustan Construction Company: HCC reported a profit of Rs 8 crore in the quarter, compared to a loss of Rs 38.9 crore in the same period last year. Revenue declined 8 percent to Rs 925.3 crore.

J Kumar Infraprojects: The company has received a project worth Rs 615.53 crore from NBCC India. This project involves the redevelopment of the GPRA Colony in Netaji Nagar, New Delhi.

AU Small Finance Bank: The Reserve Bank of India has approved the reappointment of Sanjay Agarwal as Managing Director and CEO of AU Small Finance Bank. His term will be for a period of three years, effective April 19, 2026.

GAIL India: The government has appointed Deepak Gupta as the new Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL India. His appointment will be effective March 1, 2026.
