UP Budget 2026: The UP government has made a provision of Rs 27,103 crore for industrial and infrastructure development in Budget 2026-27, which is 13% more than last year. New industrial areas, expressways, defense corridors and foreign investment have been promoted.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has given a clear message in the budget for the financial year 2026-27 that now the focus is not just on the announcement of schemes, but on major changes on the ground. A provision of Rs 27,103 crore has been made for infrastructure and industrial development, which is 13 percent more than last year. This simply means that the government is playing a big bet to expand industry, bring investment and create employment.

Rs 5,000 crore for new industrial areas

Rs 5,000 crore has been kept under the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme. This will develop new industrial areas and expand the old areas. When industries grow, factories will come up, companies will come and local youth will get employment. Efforts are being made to bring investment to small towns also through this scheme.

Digital power to youth: Provision of Rs 2,374 crore

The process of distribution of tablets and smartphones under Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme is going on. Rs 2,374 crore has been kept for this scheme. The government believes that digital devices will help the youth in studies, preparation for competitive exams and learning online skills. That means this is not just a plan to distribute gadgets, but a preparation for the future.

Emphasis on Atal Infrastructure Mission and foreign investment

Rs 2,000 crore is proposed for infrastructure development under Atal Infrastructure Mission. Facilities like better roads, electricity, water and logistics are essential for industries. Also, Rs 1,000 crore has been kept for the implementation of Incentive Policy-2023 to attract foreign investment. The aim is that more and more FDI should come and big companies should set up plants in UP. This will directly benefit the economy of the state.

Thousands of jobs expected from Defense Industrial Corridor

The Defense Industrial Corridor project is progressing rapidly. So far, MoUs have been signed for 200 defense industries. It is estimated that this will bring investment of Rs 35,280 crore and provide direct employment to 53,263 people. This step in defense sector can make UP strong at the national level.

Expressway network to speed up industrial corridor

The government has also given a big boost to the industrial development related to the expressway. The budget for industrial corridor development has been increased from Rs 300 crore to Rs 900 crore. Rs 1,400 crore has been earmarked for the link expressway connecting Agra-Lucknow and Purvanchal Expressway. There is a provision of Rs 1,100 crore for the Greenfield Expressway from Jewar Airport to Ganga Expressway and Rs 1,250 crore for the new route from Agra-Lucknow to Ganga Expressway. Rs 500-500 crore have also been earmarked for the expansion of Vindhya Expressway and Ganga Expressway. Apart from this, Rs 500 crore has been kept for the link spur from Sonbhadra to Ghazipur. It is clear that the government wants to create an expressway based industrial economy, where industries develop along with roads.

promotion of green industries

A provision of Rs 119.37 crore has been made under the Uttar Pradesh Bio-Plastic Industrial Policy 2024. Its objective is to promote environment-friendly industries and attract green investment.
