National Research Scholars Meet 2026: At the National Research Scholars Meet 2026 in Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav described research as the power of society and nation building. The website of the Conference on Mahakal was launched and the resolve to promote innovation was reiterated.
The National Research Scholars Samagam-2026, organized at Vigyan Bhawan of Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council, Bhopal, was not just an academic event, but also became a platform for serious brainstorming on the relationship between research and nation building. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav gave a clear message to the researchers, academicians and experts from across the country – the aim of research should not be just research papers, but should be to change the thinking and direction of the society.
During the programme, the Chief Minister launched the official website and brochure of ‘International Conference on Mahakal – The Master of Times’. Besides, books published by Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute were also released. This conference will continue till 14th February, in which sessions are being organized on various dimensions of research, science and innovation.
“Research should be such that it gives new vision”
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said in his address that research is not just an academic activity. It is the power that decides the direction of society and nation. He urged the researchers to move forward boldly in their respective fields and work on such topics which are related to the real needs of the country. He said, “Just as necessity is the mother of invention, similarly research is the father of science and scientific methods. When scientific knowledge is incorporated into human intelligence, then it becomes ‘wisdom’.” His emphasis was that the level of research should be so high that it could give a new direction to the thinking of the society.

Commitment to make Madhya Pradesh a leading state of research and innovation.
The Chief Minister said that the development of science and technology is the foundation of progress of any state and country. The government is committed to making Madhya Pradesh a leader in the field of research and innovation. He called upon the researchers to break out of the traditional boundaries and said that the need of the hour is to move forward with modern approach, sophisticated thinking and scientific methodology. According to him, research is meaningful only when its impact reaches a wide section of the society.
Emphasis on society based research
In his views, the Chief Minister also said that the knowledge and science of the world has been influenced by the West for a long time, due to which Indian culture has also been affected. Referring to the Indian tradition, he said that the stream of research here has been collective and society-based. According to him, it is necessary to link research with national interest and social welfare. Platforms like Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute are trying to provide similar direction to researchers across the country.
