O’Romeo advance booking collection: Can Shahid Kapoor surpass Devaa’s opening record?

O’ Romeo advance booking: The countdown has begun for O’ Romeo, and the box office buzz is heating up. With just a day to go before its theatrical release on February 13, Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s romantic action drama has crossed a key milestone in advance bookings. And trade analysts are watching closely.

As of February 12, the film has sold around 10,000 tickets across the top national multiplex chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for its opening day alone. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film opened its advance bookings three days ahead of release. So far, the response has been steady and broadly in line with Shahid’s last two outings: Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya and Devaa.

O’ Romeo advance booking collection

Industry trends suggest that O’ Romeo is on track to close its pre-release sales at approximately 30,000 admissions in national chains. The romantic thriller earned Rs 1.43 crore in advance bookings within 15 hours, according to Sacnilk. With Valentine’s Day weekend approaching, trade expects a surge in sales. The film now aims to surpass Deva’s Rs 3.29 crore advance benchmark.

Compared to Shahid’s recent releases, the film appears to be slightly ahead in terms of early traction. However, given its comparatively higher budget, the stakes are also higher. The real test will begin once the first show ends. Word of mouth could either propel it upward or stall its momentum.

About O’ Romeo

The film features a strong supporting cast, including Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey and Farida Jalal. Shahid plays Ustara, a character inspired by real events from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, while Triptii Dimri portrays Afsha, caught in a web of love and betrayal.

O’ Romeo will also clash with Tu Yaa Main at the box office. The face-off could impact screen count and audience share over the weekend. For Shahid Kapoor, this release is crucial. After the underwhelming performance of Devaa, the actor is looking for a solid comeback.
